Job Title: English Teacher – Utthan Project Organization : Enrich Lives Foundation Location : Chembur, Mumbai (BMC Schools) Employment Type : Full-time About the Project Utthan is a flagship educational initiative by Enrich Lives Foundation , aimed at uplifting learning outcomes for children in underserved communities. The project focuses on using experiential and active learning methods to enhance student engagement and conceptual understanding in key subjects, particularly English. Position Summary We are looking for a passionate and committed English Teacher to work in two BMC schools in Chembur . The teacher will be responsible for delivering English lessons using experiential and active learning methodologies , ensuring that students are not only learning but also enjoying the learning process. The working hrs will be as per school hours from Monday to Saturday. Key Responsibilities Teach English to primary/middle grade students in two assigned BMC schools. Design and deliver lesson plans using experiential learning techniques such as hands-on activities, games, and group work. Implement active learning strategies to foster student participation and critical thinking. Ensure effective classroom management and create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Regularly assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly. Coordinate with school staff, project coordinators, and the Enrich Lives Foundation team for smooth execution of the program. Maintain necessary records, reports, and documentation as required by the Foundation. Participate in training sessions, team meetings, and review sessions periodically. Required Qualifications and Skills Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) – Mandatory Prior teaching experience in English (experience in low-income or government school settings preferred) Strong understanding of child pedagogy , especially in English instruction Familiarity with experiential and active learning methodologies Proficient in classroom management techniques Passion for teaching and commitment to educational equity Good communication and interpersonal skills Basic computer literacy for documentation and reporting Remuneration Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, in alignment with the norms of Enrich Lives Foundation.
