The R&D Verification Engineer will be responsible for conducting software testing of ANSYS Computational Fluid Dynamics applications within the Fluids Business Unit. Your role will involve evaluating the product to ensure it aligns with customer requirements in terms of functionality and usability, while also guaranteeing that quality standards and product requirements are met according to the company's quality procedures. Collaboration with other members of the product creation team and communication with technical specialists on product issues will be essential aspects of this position. You will be tasked with performing functional and regression testing in both manual and automated test environments, as well as verifying defect fixes. Additionally, you will be required to write software defect reports and enhancement requests, follow standard techniques and procedures, and adhere to the company's development and testing processes. Working across various computing environments, including Windows and Linux operating systems and high-performance computing, will be part of your daily activities. Minimum educational requirements for this role include a BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field. Preferred qualifications and skills include an MS in the aforementioned fields, a solid understanding of numerical methods and algorithms commonly used in CFD, experience with Fluent CFD software for engineering problem-solving, proficient computing abilities including familiarity with scripting languages like Python, and operating systems such as Linux and Windows. A basic grasp of software testing and verification processes, along with effective communication and interpersonal skills, is essential.
