Engineering Technician Trainee - Piping

As an Engineering Technician Trainee - Piping at Black & Veatch, your role will involve participating in an accelerated training program to enhance your technical drawing skills using computer-based drafting tools like AutoCAD and Revit. The focus will be on targeted solutions in Renewables (Solar), Grid (Substation, OH Transmission, and Distribution), and EV Charging. Upon successful completion of the training program, you will transition to an Engineering Technician 1 level position. **Key Responsibilities:** - Participation in an accelerated training program covering technical drawing composition, role-specific design concepts, AutoCAD Basics, and Introduction to Revit - Solution Introduction Training including solution overviews, technician workflows, deliverables, and additional design skills in Renewables, Grid (T&D), and EV charging - Successful completion of initial entry-level projects with continued training opportunities and support **Preferred Qualifications:** - High School Diploma or Certificate preferred - Proficiency in operating a PC with Windows OS and exposure to Microsoft Office or computer graphics programs - Practical knowledge in solar, grid, or EV charging - Geospatial aptitude - Effective team player with strong verbal and written communication skills in English **Preferred Competencies:** - Aptitude for Learning - Self-starter - Time Management skills **Minimum Qualifications:** - Diploma passing year of 2024 or 2025 - Proficiency in software like Autocad, Revit, etc. - Less than 3-6 months of experience - No bachelor's degree (Engineering) required All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, including criminal/civil background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle records search, as per applicable laws and regulations.
