As an experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager / Senior Engineering Manager at Nielsen Sports in Bengaluru, you will play a crucial role in leading and nurturing a team of talented AI/ML engineers. Your primary responsibility will be to guide the team's technical direction, foster their growth, and ensure the successful delivery of projects leveraging sophisticated AI to analyze complex multimedia sports data. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Team Leadership & Development:** Lead, manage, and mentor a team of AI/ML software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, ownership, and continuous learning. Drive recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and career development for team members. Champion engineering best practices and maintain a positive, inclusive team environment. - **Technical Delivery & Execution:** Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex AI/ML projects, particularly focusing on computer vision and multi-modal LLM applications. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard of quality. Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. - **Technical Guidance & Strategy:** Provide technical direction to the team on AI/ML model development, system architecture, MLOps, and software engineering best practices. Stay updated on advancements in AI, Computer Vision, LLMs, and cloud technologies. Contribute to the technical strategy for AI/ML applications within Nielsen Sports. - **Stakeholder Management & Communication:** Effectively communicate project status, risks, and technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally to ensure alignment and successful product integration. - **Operational Excellence & Process Improvement:** Drive improvements in team processes, development methodologies, and operational efficiency. Ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability of AI/ML systems developed by your team. **Required Qualifications:** - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field. - 5-12 years of software development experience, with a focus on AI/ML, Data Science, or Computer Vision. - For Engineering Manager: 2-4 years of direct people management experience. - For Senior Engineering Manager: 5+ years of people management experience, potentially leading multiple projects. - Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD practices. - Proficiency in AI/ML concepts, machine learning algorithms, and statistical modeling. - Deep expertise in computer vision techniques and an understanding of Large Language Models. - Experience in finetuning LLMs like Llama 2/3, Mistral, or open-source models using libraries such as Hugging Face Transformers. - Proficiency in Python and Full Stack Development expertise in any one stack.
