Role Overview: Join the Cisco AI Platform Team to contribute to shaping the future of enterprise AI. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will collaborate with a team of AI researchers, data scientists, and engineers to design, develop, and operationalize AI systems that drive measurable business impact worldwide. Your role will involve working on the forefront of AI innovation, bridging research with real-world applications to address fundamental challenges in AI. Key Responsibilities: - Deep Knowledge of LLM Architecture: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of large language model architectures, including Transformer-based models like GPT. - Language Model Training and Fine-Tuning: Experience in training and fine-tuning large-scale language models from scratch or pre-trained models for specific applications. - Data Preprocessing for NLP: Skills in preprocessing textual data, such as tokenization, stemming, lemmatization, and text encoding. - Transfer Learning and Adaptation: Proficiency in applying transfer learning techniques to adapt language models to new languages, domains, or business needs. - Handling Ambiguity and Context in Text: Design models to effectively handle ambiguities, nuances, and context in natural language processing. - Application of LLMs: Creatively apply LLM technology in various areas like chatbots, content creation, and semantic search. - Data Annotation and Evaluation: Design and implement data annotation strategies for training LLMs and evaluate their performance. - Scalability and Deployment: Experience in scaling LLMs for production environments to ensure efficiency and robust deployment. Qualifications Required: - BA/BS degree with 7+ years of experience or MS degree with 5+ years of experience as a machine learning engineer. - Solid experience in machine learning engineering with a strong portfolio of successful projects. - Extensive experience in building machine learning systems and scalable solutions. - Expertise in machine learning algorithms, deep learning, and statistical modeling.
