Role Overview: As an experienced Engineering Manager at Stripe, your main responsibility will be to streamline complex systems and enhance operational efficiency within Stripes internal systems. You will analyze current processes, leverage automation platforms, and develop new solutions as needed. Your role will involve implementing cutting-edge automation solutions such as AI Agents, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and data pipelines to maximize efficiency and deliver significant business impact across various internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Lead a team of skilled engineers to design and implement data pipelines and intelligent workflows that optimize operations for internal customers including Finance, Accounting, Legal, People, Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams. - Collaborate with product managers and engage directly with users to prioritize and drive a high-impact roadmap for your team. - Recruit, coach, mentor, develop, and nurture engineers within your team. - Play a key role in launching new product features and capabilities. - Work closely with engineers and product managers across Stripe to ensure seamless integration of your team's features into the Stripe suite. Qualifications Required: Minimum Requirements: - Possess 5+ years of engineering management experience and a total of 10+ years of industry experience. - Demonstrate proven experience in working on high-scale systems with a strong technical foundation. - Exhibit strong cross-functional collaboration skills, ability to think critically, make tough decisions, and prioritize effectively. - Thrive in an environment that offers a high level of autonomy and responsibility. - Foster a healthy work environment that supports and challenges engineers to excel. - Have a solid technical background and hands-on experience in solving large-scale technical challenges. - Ability to collaborate with diverse internal teams and stakeholders across various business functions like Finance, Legal, and Operations. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with AI, LLM, or ML technologies is highly valued. - Understanding of context-driven AI agents that can autonomously derive solutions based on given business problems and context. Additional Company Details: Currently, Stripes in most locations are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in a given month in their local office or with users. The in-office expectation may vary based on roles, teams, and locations. For example, Stripes in Bucharest, Romania have an 80% in-office expectation, while those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico, and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Some teams may have greater in-office attendance requirements to support users and workflows effectively, which will be discussed by the hiring manager.
