Engineering Application Developer

Successful candidate will be joining our Civil team which comprises around 700 staff working on some of the largest schemes in Europe utilizing the latest in digital engineering software including Autodesk, Bentley and Microsoft solutions. He/She will work with our Digital Engineering and BIM Leadership Team to support the development of scaled automation solutions. He/She will have the platform to develop his/her skills working on a wide range of transport and infrastructure projects alongside our team of innovative engineers. This will include being part of an exciting engineering application development team which has been given the remit to be involved in operational RD.

As part of day-to-day role, he/she will be working on:

• Involved in opportunity and discovery phase workshops with engineering teams;
• Close collaboration with engineering teams identifies opportunity and risk;
• Work closely in collaboration with our Regional Automation and BIM Leads;
• Development and maintenance of engineering tools, scripts, and add-ins;
• Production of guides and tutorials;
• Close collaboration with WSP IT Teams;
• Troubleshoot and debug issues;
• Provide training and support to Civil s citizen and fusion developers;
• Actively learn and adapt to learning new product API and Solutions;

preferable skills

• Several years of industry experience specific to Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering;
• Interest to those with experience in Civil Structures and Bridges, but not essential;
• Engineering Degree or equivalent;
• Strong proficiency in developing application APIs preferred for Autodesk, Bentley, and/or Trimble applications;
• Sound programming knowledge in Python; C# or VB .NET Framework
• And

  familiar

  with the following:
• Microsoft Power Platforms;
• Sound understanding of maths and geometry;
• Data literate;
• In-depth understanding of Object Orientated Programming (OOP) and Data Structures (DS) concept;
• Ability to design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code for scaled use;
• Experience working in hosted environments (e.g.) Azure, AWS
• Experience in software development tools concepts like: using IDE, Git version control, Test
• Driven Development (TDD) and Documentation
• Methodologies like: agile, scrum
• Have a keen interest in advancing technologies such as AI/ML
• Experience developing web applications on platforms like: VIKTOR, Speckle

Successful candidates shall also be/have:

• Self-motivated in research-oriented projects and upskilling yourself;
• Highly motivated, and able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision;
• Committed to personal and professional development;
• Good team-working skills, particularly in relation to the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects;
