Engineer Trainee Intern

Sicame GBS - R&D requires the following position:

Graduate Intern - Electrical / Mechanical - R&D

new product development, design optimization, and engineering documentation activities

• Assist in new product development, value engineering, and technical documentation tasks.
• Learn and support application engineering functions such as product research, prototyping, and design validation.
• Develop a basic understanding of system-level requirements, product components, and installation procedures.
• Participate in product testing activities, including sample preparation, setup, and data recording.
• Interpret engineering specifications and help convert them into basic design concepts.
• Gain exposure to standards, certification processes, and compliance testing.
• Use 3D and 2D design tools (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for product and component modelling.
• Learn and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for prototyping, testing, and design iterations.
• Contribute to process documentation, including design reports, test summaries, and change management records.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Basic understanding of engineering concepts related to product design, electrical systems, or mechanical assemblies.
• Familiarity with CAD tools and interest in learning design principles and drafting standards.
• Good communication skills and willingness to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Passion for innovation, continuous learning, and hands-on problem-solving.
• Internship or project experience in product development or testing (preferred but not mandatory).
• Knowledge of project methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, or Design for Six Sigma (optional, added advantage).
