Position Summary

ASSA ABLOY is seeking dynamic and enthusiastic engineering graduates for the Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) position in the Production, Manufacturing, and Operations departments at our Jamnagar plant (Shree Mahavir Metalcraft Pvt. Ltd.).
This program is designed to groom fresh talent through hands-on training, real-time project exposure, and functional understanding of manufacturing operations. Successful candidates may be offered full-time roles post-training based on performance.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing daily production activities to meet targets.
  
• Monitor and analyze production processes for continuous improvement in efficiency and quality.
  
• Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other process improvement initiatives.
  
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, and Design teams to ensure smooth workflow and quick resolution of issues.
  
• Prepare and maintain production records, process documentation, and shift reports.
  
• Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations within the plant.
  
• Participate in capacity planning, machine utilization studies, and downtime analysis.
  
• Analyze root causes of manufacturing issues and support corrective action planning.
  
• Contribute to productivity enhancement and cost-reduction initiatives.
  

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Production / Manufacturing Engineering from a recognized institution.
  
• Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes, assembly line operations, and industrial practices.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  
• Familiarity with production planning tools and ERP/SAP systems is an advantage.
  
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented mindset.
  
• Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is essential.
  
• Willingness to work in a plant/shop floor environment and learn new systems and processes.
