As an Engineer - Technical Publication, your role involves creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation for products and systems. You will collaborate with engineering, product management, and Marketing teams to develop user manuals, technical guides, and other documentation formats. Managing spare parts databases and collaborating with stakeholders and suppliers are also part of your responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and maintain spare parts databases to ensure accuracy and consistency. - Extract, update, and manage spare parts and related data in SAP. - Share alternative spare parts, obsolete spare parts based on life cycle and order history, create spare parts, and mark them available for order. - Maintain large data in Excel sheets, prepare reports, and dashboards. - Develop high-quality technical documentation that communicates complex technical information clearly. - Collaborate with engineering and product teams to gather necessary information for documentation. - Edit and revise existing documentation for accuracy, clarity, and consistency. - Design documentation templates aligned with company standards for better user experience. - Conduct usability testing of documentation for feedback and improvements. - Manage documentation projects to meet timelines and quality standards. - Utilize content management systems to organize documentation resources. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Technical Communication or a related field. - Proven experience in technical writing within an engineering or technical environment. - Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to simplify them for various audiences. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail. - Proficiency in technical writing software like Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Illustrator, Creo, and IsoDraw. - Knowledge of content management systems and version control procedures. In this role, you will need to use tools such as: - Technical writing software (e.g., Adobe FrameMaker) - Graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Creo, and IsoDraw) - Windchill (Product Life Cycle Management) - Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Your job requires a combination of technical expertise in Spare Part Management and delivering top-notch documentation to improve user understanding and product usability.
