Engineer - Roads & Highways

You will be responsible for the production of highway engineering designs and construction drawings independently for various UK schemes using the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and other relevant standards. You will play a proactive part in the design process and be active on several projects simultaneously. Coordinating inputs and outputs with other disciplines to produce an integrated design will be part of your responsibilities. You will contribute to all types of projects, ensuring delivery to a high standard while adhering to relevant health and safety policies and procedures. Additionally, guiding and mentoring junior team members to broaden their understanding will be expected of you. Key Responsibilities: - Demonstrate good knowledge and experience of UK highway design, including road geometry, signages, road markings, Active Travel schemes, LTN 1/20, and Active Travel England related documents production - Utilize relevant design software such as Civil 3D, PDS/Key Line and Sign, AutoCAD, and ProjectWise - Proficiency in standard office software - Seek clarification of instructions and work scope - Liaise with the UK project team to deliver schemes/projects - Quick to learn new ideas and skills, think laterally for problem-solving, and possess good written and verbal communication skills - Prepare Development Drainage Strategies Desired Skills: - Production of technical specifications and reports - Management of work packages Qualifications: - Bachelor's or post-graduate degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent - 4-8 years of post-graduate experience in highway design - Working towards a recognized Professional Qualification About the Company: WSP is one of the world's leading professional services consulting firms, dedicated to local communities with international expertise.
