Engineer III, Software (DevSecOps)

As part of the team at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., your role will involve working in a multi-disciplinary, high-tech, and international environment to tackle complex technical problems. Your focus will be on driving security into the software development lifecycle and ensuring the security of products. With a strong background in software security and DevOps practices, you will play a crucial role in this mission. **Key Responsibilities:** - Assist the lead Project Manager with project management tasks to ensure efficient completion of plans. - Identify and assess vulnerabilities, and support software teams through the remediation process. - Collaborate closely with the division product security architect, DevOps teams, software teams, and product owners to integrate good software and product security practices into workflows. - Enhance tools in the CI/CD pipeline, maintain security documentation, and conduct security training sessions to make security an integral part of the software development process. **Technical Skills:** - Solid understanding of DevSecOps tools and technologies such as Static Code Analysis, Dependency/Software composition analysis, Secrets scanning, Dynamic application Security testing, SBOM creation and analysis. - Proficiency in vulnerability management and security risk management techniques. - Knowledge of infrastructure as code and management tools like Terraform, Ansible. - Proficient in programming / scripting languages such as Python, C++, or C#. - Experience with project management methodologies (PMI, PMBOK, Agile) and CICD, SBOM creation, and analysis tools. **Qualifications:** - Bachelor's / Master's degree in computer science or a related field. - 6-8 years of experience in DevSecOps with strong hands-on programming skills in C++. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Capability to work both independently and as part of a team. - Relevant certifications (e.g., 3, CEH, SANS) are considered a bonus.,
