Engineer III, Software (DevSecOps)

As a member of the team at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will be contributing to our mission of enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. Your role will involve working in a multi-disciplinary, high-tech, and international environment to address complex technical challenges with a focus on software security and DevOps practices. Your contributions will play a vital role in ensuring the security of our products and integrating good software security practices into our workflows. Key Responsibilities: - Assist the lead Project Manager in project management tasks, including identifying and assessing vulnerabilities and guiding software teams through the remediation process. - Collaborate closely with the division product security architect, DevOps teams, software teams, and product owners to incorporate software and product security practices into our processes. - Enhance tools in the CI/CD pipeline, maintain security documentation, and conduct security training sessions to establish security as a core component of our software development process. Technical Skills: - Proficiency in DevSecOps tools and technologies such as Static Code Analysis, Dependency/Software composition analysis, Secrets scanning, Dynamic application Security testing, and SBOM creation and analysis. - Familiarity with vulnerability management and security risk management techniques. - Understanding of infrastructure as code and management tools like Terraform and Ansible. - Experience with programming/scripting languages like Python, C++, or C#. - Knowledge of project management methodologies such as PMI, PMBOK, and Agile. - Proficiency in CICD and SBOM creation and analysis tools. Qualifications: - Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science or a related field. - 6-8 years of experience in DevSecOps with strong hands-on programming skills in C++. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Relevant certifications (e.g., 3, CEH, SANS) are considered a bonus.
