Job Description Role Overview: As a member of Comcast, you will be responsible for validating product quality by analyzing and testing the quality of the codebase. You will make decisions affecting the architecture of the test codebase, including selecting software for writing test code. Your focus will be on writing code that can be executed in an automated and repeatable fashion to reduce manual testing efforts and enhance code quality and consistency. You will develop and maintain code that validates front-end, middleware, and database systems using the latest tools and common programming languages. Your role will involve providing input into various software development lifecycle stages and partnering with software engineers to write efficient automation code following coding standards and best practices. Key Responsibilities: - Write automated test code, maintaining the automation codebase in a version control system. - Create automated testing documentation such as Test Plans and Test Summary Reports. - Execute automated test scripts and present results to the team. - Analyze and repair broken test cases, diagnose and fix simple bugs in production code. - Perform code reviews of automation scripts and front-end codebases. - Serve as a mentor for junior-level engineers, providing technical leadership and consultation. - Exercise independent judgment and discretion in significant matters. - Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance, including the ability to work nights and weekends as necessary. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's Degree. - 5-7 years of relevant work experience. - Proficiency in creating automated test code and maintaining codebases in version control systems. - Experience in creating automated testing documentation and executing test scripts. - Ability to diagnose and repair broken test cases and simple bugs in production code. - Strong mentoring and leadership skills for guiding junior-level engineers. - Independent judgment and discretion in significant technical matters.
