Key Responsibilities: Equipment Preparation and Maintenance: Preparing endoscopy rooms with necessary equipment, including scopes and related supplies. Cleaning, disinfecting, and calibrating endoscopes and other instruments according to manufacturer guidelines and facility standards. Ensuring all equipment is functioning properly and safely. Maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies. Patient Care and Support: Assisting with patient preparation for endoscopic procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety. Transporting patients to and from the procedure room. Collecting specimens (e.g., biopsies) during procedures and preparing labels. Providing support to patients during and after procedures. Procedure Assistance: Assisting physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures, ensuring efficient workflow. Observing and documenting patient vital signs during procedures. Communicating with the medical team regarding patient status and equipment needs. Infection Control: Adhering to strict infection control protocols for cleaning and disinfecting equipment. Maintaining a sterile environment in procedure rooms. Documentation and Communication: Maintaining accurate records of procedures, equipment usage, and patient information. Communicating effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and other staff. Skills and Qualifications: Technical Skills: Proficiency in handling and maintaining endoscopic equipment, understanding infection control protocols, and assisting with procedures. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with patients and the medical team. Teamwork Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Disinfection of linen, beds, and fumigation of rooms etc. Preparation of rooms, trolleys and sets for procedures. Indenting of surgical supplies Maintaining interpersonal relationship with patients, relatives and health team members Orientation of new staff/ students Demonstration and guidance to student nurses Participation in staff education and staff meetings Participation in professional activities Demonstration and supervision of domestic staff Report about the medico legal cases if any admitted in the ward Any other duty that may be assigned by ward incharge/supervisor from time to time.
