Endoscopy Technician

assists with endoscopic procedures by preparing equipment, supporting physicians and nurses, and ensuring patient safety and comfort

• Equipment Preparation and Maintenance:

• Preparing endoscopy rooms with necessary equipment, including scopes and related supplies.
• Cleaning, disinfecting, and calibrating endoscopes and other instruments according to manufacturer guidelines and facility standards.
• Ensuring all equipment is functioning properly and safely.
• Maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies.

• Patient Care and Support:

• Assisting with patient preparation for endoscopic procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Transporting patients to and from the procedure room.
• Collecting specimens (e.g., biopsies) during procedures and preparing labels.
• Providing support to patients during and after procedures.

• Procedure Assistance:

• Assisting physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures, ensuring efficient workflow.
• Observing and documenting patient vital signs during procedures.
• Communicating with the medical team regarding patient status and equipment needs.

• Infection Control:

• Adhering to strict infection control protocols for cleaning and disinfecting equipment.
• Maintaining a sterile environment in procedure rooms.

• Documentation and Communication:

• Maintaining accurate records of procedures, equipment usage, and patient information.
