Embedded Software Engineer

As an Embedded Engineer at Prismberry, your role will involve creating and deploying OpenBMC firmware with a focus on Arm architecture among other tasks. Your responsibilities will include: - Configuring BMC firmware, analyzing performance, and implementing server manageability features for the company's server platforms. - Developing error, statistics, and configuration solutions for various components to ensure the server platforms are corporate-ready. - Designing BMC solutions for performance-optimized active monitoring using DMTF Standards like MCTP, Redfish, SPDM, and PLDM instructions. - Writing and automating unit tests for all implemented modules, maintaining comprehensive test case reports, and ensuring optimal code coverage. - Generating software quality reports based on CPU load, code coverage, and static analysis. - Examining hardware architecture and schematics, collaborating closely with hardware teams to influence hardware design. Key skills and experience required for this role include: - 5+ years of experience in electronics engineering or computer science, or a Bachelor of Science degree (or higher). - Proficiency in developing firmware for X86 or ARM platforms, including BIOS communication, power and thermal management, firmware updates, device monitoring, and firmware security. - Board Bring-up proficiency with knowledge of device drivers like SPI, PCIe, SMBus, Mail-box, and I2C/I3C, as well as device trees for Linux kernel and U-Boot. - Experience in Out-of-Band or In-band System Management, familiarity with IPMI, KCS, DMTF Standards (PLDM, MCTP, Redfish, etc.), PMBus, NVMe, etc. - Knowledge of REST architecture, particularly in relation to JSON via HTTPs and OAuth. - Proficiency in programming and scripting for Linux user-space and system programs using C/C++, with strong code review abilities. - Strong understanding of Linux building and deployment principles, various Linux distributions and packages, and upgrade procedures. - Excellent oral and writing communication skills, a strong work ethic, teamwork, a passion for high-quality work, and dedication to completing tasks diligently.
