About the role

Build production-grade firmware for Nippo Airvue's smart Air Quality Monitors and Air Purifiers. You'll own board bring-up, connectivity, OTA, and reliability for devices deployed at scale across homes, hospitals, and enterprises.

What you'll do

Board bring-up & drivers: Initialize MCUs (ESP32-S3/ESP-IDF, STM32/HAL, nRF91/Zephyr). Develop drivers for IC/SPI/UART/ADC/PWM, sensors, displays, buzzers/LEDs, relays, and fans.

Connectivity & protocols: Implement Wi-Fi/BLE and NB-IoT/LTE-M stacks; MQTT/HTTP(S) with TLS/X.509 provisioning, captive portal, fallback modes. Modbus RTU/TCP over RS-485 where required.

Application logic: Sampling, filtering, calibration, data logging, event/alert rules, error handling, safe-state management, NVM wear-levelling.

RTOS & power: Task design on FreeRTOS/Zephyr, ISRs, timers/queues; sleep states, power profiling, battery-life optimisation.

OTA & security: Fail-safe OTA with A/B partitions and rollback; secure boot, firmware signing, versioning and release notes.

Quality & testing: Unit tests, HIL tests, production test scripts (Python), factory provisioning (keys, serial/QR, calibration). Debug via JTAG/SWD, logic analyser, oscilloscope.

Reliability & compliance: Watchdogs, brown-out handling, EMI/EMC-friendly firmware practices; support BIS / IEC 60335 / IEC 62368 testing.

Collaboration: Partner with EE for schematic/layout reviews and with ME on enclosure/thermal constraints; support field pilots and vendor trials (India/China).

Documentation: Firmware architecture, APIs/DFDs, test reports, ECR/ECO change logs.

What you'll need

B.E./B.Tech (ECE/EEE/CS) with 24 years in embedded firmware for IoT/consumer devices.

Strong C/C++, RTOS (FreeRTOS or Zephyr), and MCU toolchains (ESP-IDF / STM32Cube / nRF Connect).

Hands-on with IC/SPI/UART, GPIO/Timers/ADC, sensor integration, and board bring-up.

Experience shipping Wi-Fi/BLE and/or NB-IoT/LTE-M devices, integrating to cloud (MQTT to AWS IoT/Azure).

Proven OTA implementation and field updates.

Confident with lab tools (DMM, scope, logic analyser) and debugging (JTAG/SWD, GDB).

Git workflows, code reviews, structured documentation.

Nice to have

Exposure to acoustics/airflow control (fan curves, PID), HVAC/ERV integrations.

Firmware-level EMI/EMC mitigation; experience in compliance test support.

Field deployments/pilot rollouts and vendor coordination.
