About the Role

Embedded Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize

    embedded firmware

    for medical devices in compliance with IEC 62304 and other relevant standards.
  • Develop and maintain

    RTOS-based applications

    ensuring deterministic, real-time performance.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, quality, regulatory) to ensure seamless integration of embedded systems.
  • Develop drivers, middleware, and applications for microcontrollers (ARM, PIC, STM32, etc.).
  • Implement

    communication protocols

    (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, BLE, Wi-Fi, etc.) for device connectivity and IoHT/IoT applications.
  • Ensure system reliability,

    low-power optimization

    , and safety-critical performance.
  • Participate in

    design reviews, risk analysis, and failure mode analysis (FMEA)

    .
  • Write and maintain

    documentation

    for software design, test protocols, and regulatory submissions.
  • Collaborate in

    verification & validation (V&V)

    testing to meet FDA, CE, and ISO 13485 requirements.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies in

    medical electronics, RTOS, and embedded systems

    .

Requirements

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree

    in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in

    embedded firmware development

    (preferably in the medical device or regulated industry).
  • Strong knowledge of

    C/C++ programming

    ,

    RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX, etc.)

    , and embedded Linux.
  • Experience with

    safety-critical design

    , fault-tolerant systems, and hardware/software integration.
  • Familiarity with

    medical device standards

    : IEC 62304 (software lifecycle), ISO 13485 (QMS), ISO 14971 (risk management).
  • Proficiency in using

    debugging tools, oscilloscopes, JTAG, logic analyzers

    , etc.
  • Knowledge of

    wireless medical communication standards

    (Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi, IoT protocols) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a regulated environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in

    IoHT (Internet of Health Things)

    or connected health devices.
  • Understanding of

    cybersecurity

    in medical devices (FDA cybersecurity guidelines, IEC 81001-5-1).
  • Hands-on experience with

    cloud-connected devices

    or AI-driven embedded solutions.
