Electronic Technician

Responsibilities and duties

• Installation and Maintenance:

  Install, maintain, and repair electronic equipment and systems. Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of machinery like PLCs and temperature controllers.

• Troubleshooting and Repair:

  Diagnose and repair electronic malfunctions using diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes and multimeters. Fix faulty components and circuitry, and perform calibration.

• Testing and Calibration:

  Conduct tests on electronic systems and components. Calibrate equipment and instruments to ensure they meet performance and safety standards.

• Assembly and Documentation:

  Assemble electronic components and systems. Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and test results.

• Collaboration and Support:

  Work with engineers and other team members to develop and improve electronic systems. Provide technical support and training to other staff.

• Compliance and Safety:

  Adhere to health and safety procedures and protocols at all times. Ensure work complies with industry standards and quality control measures.

Qualifications and skills

• Technical Skills:

  Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and manuals. Proficiency with tools like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and hand tools. Knowledge of electronic components such as resistors and transistors.

• Problem-Solving:

  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose complex issues.

• Education:

  A degree in Electronics Technology or a related field is often required.

• Other Skills:

  Excellent physical dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and in a team.
