Job Purpose/Summary

To perform skilled electrical installation, repair, and maintenance tasks on various plant electrical systems and equipment to ensure their safe, reliable, and efficient operation, adhering to electrical codes and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Repair & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical faults in motors, panels, switchgear, control circuits, lighting systems, and power distribution systems.
• Preventive Maintenance: Execute routine preventive maintenance tasks, inspections, and testing of electrical equipment.
• Installation: Install new electrical wiring, conduits, panels, and equipment as per drawings and specifications.
• Motor Maintenance: Perform motor winding resistance checks, bearing replacements, and insulation testing.
• PLC/DCS Wiring: Assist in wiring and termination of PLC/DCS I/O modules and field devices.
• Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all electrical safety procedures, including LOTO, grounding, and working with live circuits (where authorized). Use appropriate PPE.
• Tool Management: Maintain electrical tools and testing equipment (e.g., multimeter, insulation tester) in good working condition.
• Reporting: Accurately record details of work performed, time taken, and parts used in work orders or logbooks.

Required Qualifications:

• ITI Electrician trade certificate or equivalent vocational qualification.
• Valid Wireman license (if required by local regulations).

• Required Experience:

• 3-7 years of hands-on experience as an industrial electrician in a heavy process industry.
• Experience with HT/LT switchgear, motors, VFDs, and control panel wiring.

Required Skills:

• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and control diagrams.
• Knowledge of basic electronics and control systems.
• Familiarity with electrical safety codes and practices.
• Good physical dexterity and ability to work in various environments.
