Electrical Testing Engineer

Roles and Responsibility/ Duties to be performed:

• Condition Monitoring of Circuit Breaker, Isolator, Earth-Switch, CVT, CT, LA, PLCC Etc. Involving Thermo-Vision Inspection/ Monitoring/Counter Reading of LA, CB, CVT Voltage Measurement, LA Leakage Current Monitoring.
• Fault Analysis for Protections Relays by Extracting Events Log & Disturbance Record (DR) Generated In Protection Relays. Taking Necessary Corrective Action for Smooth Operation of System.
• Condition monitoring of C&R panels of Generator, GT and UATs. Condition monitoring of relays of HT and LT switchgear.
• Preparing & Maintaining Equipment Failure History Record and Outage records.
• Troubleshooting & Rectification of Breakdown/Defects/Faults/Alarms by Referring Scheme/Protection Drawings.
• Maintaining critical spare relays and other critical spares related to SCADA system, CTS, PTs and SRLDC data communication system.
• Maintain all Electrical lab testing equipment and ensuring timely calibration as per the schedule.
• DS AGILE OWS & EWS Maintenance, Ethernet Fibre Switch PM, Gateway, SCADA Server Maintenance.
• Breakdown maintenance, Defect Attending and Taking Corrective Action. Replacement/Retrofitting of defective relays and commissioning.

Functional Competencies:

• Competence in troubleshooting using schemes, logic verification, and diagnostic tools.
• Understanding protective relaying schemes for 400kV Switchyard, Generator, G UAT and all HT & LT switchgear.
• Knowledge on SCADA components, Proficiency in SCADA operation, protocols like IEC 61850 for reliable data transfer and SRLDC communication system.
• Diagnosing electrical trips and SCADA alarms using event logs and data.
• Hands-on experience with specialized test sets like CMC356 kit to verify relay testing and proper functionality.
• Testing transformers, circuit breakers, and switchgear for integrity and performance. Performing short-circuit and load flow studies to set relay parameters.
• Ability to perform fault analysis using protection relays, event logs, and disturbance records (DR).
• Ability to perform power system studies, such as short-circuit analysis and load flow studies, is critical for understanding the behavior of the plant's electrical network under normal and fault conditions.
• Strong knowledge of 400KV switchyard operations and maintenance.
• Familiarity with statutory compliance, PTW systems, and HSE protocols.
• Understanding of energy reporting, scheduling, and ABT tariff updates.
