Electrical Technician

The Cable & Internet Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting cable TV connections, broadband internet lines, network equipment, and customer premises equipment (CPE). The role involves on-site visits, problem diagnosis, and ensuring smooth service delivery to customers. Key Responsibilities Installation & Setup Install and configure broadband connections, cable TV lines, modems, routers, ONU/ONT, set-top boxes, and other CPE. Lay and terminate fiber optic cables (FTTH) or coax cables as required. Conduct site surveys for new installations. Maintenance & Support Diagnose and resolve customer issues related to internet connectivity, speed, router configuration, and cable TV signal. Perform routine maintenance of network infrastructure including nodes, splitters, switches, OLT/POE devices, amplifiers, and junction boxes. Attend service calls promptly and maintain high customer satisfaction. Technical Operations Monitor signal levels, check power levels, and ensure proper alignment of connections. Identify cable faults, fiber cuts, connector issues, or signal leakage and repair them efficiently. Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures. Customer Interaction & Reporting Provide clear communication to customers about issues, solutions, and preventive measures. Maintain daily service logs, job sheets, and installation reports. Escalate unresolved technical issues to senior engineers or network teams. Required Skills & Qualifications 1–3 years of experience as a Cable Technician, FTTH Technician, or Broadband Support Technician (preferred). Basic understanding of networking: IP, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches. Knowledge of fiber splicing, OTDR readings, power meter usage is an advantage. Ability to troubleshoot cable faults, replace connectors, and manage field equipment. Physically fit and comfortable working on ladders, rooftops, and field environments. Good communication and customer-handling skills. Valid two-wheeler license (preferred). Education ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or related field. 10th / 12th pass candidates with strong technical skills may also apply.
