Description
As a member of the Fleet Management team at Seaspan, you will be taking on the role of Electrical Superintendent. In this position, you will be responsible for providing, coordinating, managing, and delivering expertise in Electrical & Electronic Engineering to support the fleet's operational needs and ensure equipment availability and reliability. Your role will involve working closely with sea staff to guide them effectively. Your key responsibilities will include: - Ensuring familiarity with the Health, Safety, Environmental Protection, and Quality Policy, along with compliance policies, and reporting any environmental noncompliance or concerns promptly - Assisting in the technical follow-up and resolution of incidents, audit findings, non-conformances, and root cause analysis related to technical areas of expertise - Offering specialized guidance and support in Electrical and Electronic engineering for all equipment and systems on board - Collaborating with shore-based support teams and vessel/Fleet managers to maintain, repair, and ensure the availability of electrical and electronic equipment - Supporting in planning and executing project management for retrofits/upgrades in alignment with company policies and goals - Managing and executing assigned projects and initiatives, and continuously reviewing and enhancing asset management plans within your scope - Monitoring and addressing on-board issues effectively during ship visits, encompassing technical, quality assurance, health and safety, commercial, or personnel concerns - Demonstrating dedication to Seaspan's Maritime Resource Management values and performing any other duties as needed To qualify for this role, you should have: - A degree in Electrical engineering or equivalent, along with a minimum of 2 years of sailing experience as an Electrical officer - Effective English language skills, both verbally and in writing, suitable for a diverse working environment - Strong technical knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) Desired qualifications that would be beneficial include: - Experience working with container ships - Education in Electrical and/or Electronic engineering - Previous involvement in retrofits/new-builds and dry-dockings In terms of job demands and physical requirements, you should be prepared for: - Regular international travel, sometimes on short notice - Conducting vessel inspections requiring mobility - Having a mobile device for regular checks outside of office hours - Maintaining a home internet connection for work beyond regular office hours If you meet these qualifications and are ready to contribute your expertise to Seaspans high-performance culture and asset management goals, we encourage you to apply for this challenging and rewarding opportunity.,
