Electrical Safety Officer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Installation:

• Design electrical systems and layouts for warehouse operations, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
• Supervise the installation of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards

2. Testing and Commissioning:

• Conduct testing and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure they meet design specifications and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during testing and commissioning.

3. Safety Inspections and Audits:

• Conduct regular inspections and audits of electrical installations, equipment, Warehouse and systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Identify potential electrical hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct Safety inspections of Work Areas & Prepare reports of observed Safety Hazards, violations of Safety Rules & Regulations, for improvements of Safety Standards.

4. Compliance and Regulations:

• Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national regulations, including the Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and Electric Supply) Regulations, 2023.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant environment safety standards and regulations.

5. Energy Management:

• Monitor and manage energy consumption within the warehouse to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
• Implement energy-saving initiatives and technologies to improve overall energy efficiency.

6. Risk Assessment:

• Perform risk assessments for electrical installations and warehouse operations.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to prevent accidents and incidents.

7. Incident Investigation:

• Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and recommend preventive measures.

8. Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of electrical designs, installations, maintenance activities, and inspections.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on electrical system performance, maintenance activities, and compliance status to management.
• Maintain up-to-date records of inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and corrective actions.

9. Emergency Response:

• Develop and implement emergency response plans for electrical incidents.
• Coordinate with emergency services and internal teams during electrical emergencies.
• To ensure the efficiency of all Emergency Preparedness Plan through regular Mock Drills & upkeep of all Emergency Preparedness.

10. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure the safety of warehouse operations.

11. Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for improving electrical safety practices and procedures.
• Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance electrical safety.
• To provide advice & support to line management on Safe Work Practices, conduct risk assessments and the appropriate control measures to be adopted for ensuring that operational risks are proactively & appropriately managed.
• To regularly monitor the Safety Standards & procedures in the respective Branches & respond to the emergencies & incidents in the facilities & providing advice in the HSE related matters

12. Training and Development:

• Provide training and development opportunities for junior engineers and technical staff.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and incorporate new technologies and methodologies into site.
• Organize various EHS promotional programs, competitions, continuous awareness programs, Safety Awards & toolbox talk to enhance HSE performance
• Drive HSE training need analysis in the Region, prepare training plans, co-ordinate/deliver in-house training HSE training & maintain the training records.

• Certifications:

Relevant certifications in electrical engineering and safety are preferred.
