Electrical Panel Design Engineer

Job Summary

The Electrical Panel Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and preparing electrical control panels, power distribution boards, and automation systems as per project specifications and standards. The role involves preparing detailed engineering drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials)

Key Responsibilities

• Design

  Low Voltage (LV) electrical panels

  such as PCC, MCC, APFC, AMF/ATS, Control Panels, and Distribution Boards.
• Develop

  Single Line Diagrams (SLD)

  ,

  General Arrangement (GA) drawings

  ,

  Control Schematics

  , and

  Wiring Diagrams

  using AutoCAD
• Select appropriate components ACB, MCCB, MCB, contactors, relays, VFDs, PLCs, meters, CTs, and cables as per load and system requirements.
• Prepare

  BOMs

  ,

  technical datasheets

  , and

  panel interconnection diagrams

  based on design inputs.
• Coordinate with

  production, purchase, and quality teams

  to ensure the design is practical and cost-effective.
• Conduct

  panel load calculations

  , and

  busbar sizing

  to ensure safety and performance.
• Review

  customer specifications

  , tender drawings, and standards such as IS/IEC.
• Support

  site engineers

  for installation, testing, and commissioning-related queries.
• Participate in

  design review meetings

  with clients or consultants.
• Exp in DFMEA, APQP, DFM

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of

  Electrical Power Systems

  and

  Control Circuit Design

  .
• Proficiency in

  AutoCAD Electrical

• Familiarity with

  IEC/IS standards

  related to panel design and wiring.
• Good understanding of

  PLC, SCADA, and VFD integration

  .
• Follow up with ISO and 5s standard
• Timely Delivery of the products

Qualification

• ITI/Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)

Experience

• 2 to 6 years of experience in

  Electrical Panel Design / Switchgear Manufacturing Industry

  .
• Experience with

  L&T, Schneider Electric, Siemens, ABB, or similar switchgear components

  is preferred.

Additional Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of

  3D panel design software

  (SolidWorks Electrical / EPLAN Pro Panel).
• Experience in

  PLC / HMI programming

  or

  automation system integration

  .
• Exposure to

  solar LT panels, AMF/ATS systems, and DG synchronization panels

  .
