Role Overview

Electrical Engineer (Plant Maintenance)

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment, especially

    transformers, switchgear, LT/HT panels, and industrial control systems

    .
  • Diagnose equipment faults and implement effective corrective actions to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Maintain and repair motors, drives, control panels, PLC-based systems, and distribution networks.
  • Ensure proper loading, insulation testing, transformer oil testing, and earthing system maintenance.

Plant Operations Support

  • Monitor electrical systems and ensure continuous, safe operation of plant utilities.
  • Support production with electrical expertise during installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery and equipment.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues on the shop floor.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all electrical work aligns with

    IE rules, safety regulations, and factory compliance requirements

    .
  • Maintain documentation such as maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and equipment history records.
  • Implement energy-saving initiatives and support the plant’s electrical safety audits.

Continuous Improvement

  • Recommend upgrades or replacements of aging electrical infrastructure.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring breakdowns and implement permanent solutions.
  • Contribute to overall plant maintenance excellence through lean practices and process improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3–6 years of experience in plant maintenance

    , preferably in a

    transformer manufacturing or electrical equipment manufacturing setup

    .
  • Strong knowledge of

    transformers, HT/LT panels, switchgear systems, motors, drives, and control circuits

    .
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical testing instruments (megger, multimeter, relay test kits, etc.).
  • Understanding of safety standards, statutory compliances, and maintenance documentation.
  • Good problem-solving, analytical, and team coordination skills.
