Electrical Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Position Overview

Responsible for routine, preventive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical, automation, and control systems across production, utilities, HVAC, and cleanroom areas to ensure uninterrupted operations and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform routine, preventive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment across production, cleanrooms, utilities, and HVAC.
  
• Troubleshoot issues in filling lines, autoclaves, vial washers, AHUs, air compressors, DG sets, and other sterile-area machinery.
  
• Monitor and maintain electrical panels, VFDs, servo drives, sensors, and instrumentation.
  

2. Automation & Control Systems

• Troubleshoot and maintain PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems (Siemens/Allen Bradley/Mitsubishi).
  
• Execute loop checking, I/O mapping, and coordinate calibration for instruments.
  
• Ensure proper functioning of interlocks, alarms, and control logic.
  
• Support PLC/HMI program modifications, optimization, software backup, and logic updates with OEMs.
  

3. Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare and maintain PM checklists, breakdown reports, calibration records, incident logs, and change control documentation.
  
• Ensure electrical activities comply with GMP, cGMP, FDA, MHRA, and safety norms for sterile pharma environments.
  
• Support IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities for electrical and automation equipment.
  

4. Safety

• Ensure safe execution of electrical tasks as per SOPs and Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.
  
• Review, implement, and improve electrical safety practices in cleanrooms and critical equipment areas.
  

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with production, quality, utilities, and HVAC teams for timely maintenance and issue resolution.
  
• Work with OEMs, vendors, and contractors for specialized services and FAT/SAT support.
  
• Provide training to technicians/electricians on troubleshooting and electrical safety.
  

6. Energy & Optimization

• Monitor energy consumption and support power-saving and optimization initiatives.
  
• Participate in continuous improvement and equipment reliability enhancement activities.
  

Qualification & Experience

• Qualification:

  B.Tech / B.E. Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

• Experience:

  7–15 years in maintenance of electrical & automation systems in sterile/injectable pharma preferred.

• Skills:

  PLC/SCADA troubleshooting, GMP documentation, electrical safety, equipment handling in sterile areas.
