Job Description

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide professional front-end systems support in preparing all necessary electrical and mechanical drawings based on customer specifications. This includes one-line layout, schematic, overall layout, and connection details for complex assemblies, while applying drafting principles and technical knowledge. Close collaboration with teammates from Eaton India Innovation Center (Pune) and PDCAD facilities in North America is essential to develop best practices for front-end operations. You will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, mechanical drawings, and electrical drawings, and preparing general arrangement drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and wiring diagrams. Designing LV Motor Control Centers (MCCs), including power and control circuits, motor starters, and protective devices, is a key aspect of this role. Collaboration with engineering peers and cross-functional teams will be necessary to ensure that custom designs meet customer expectations. Working closely with R&D, manufacturing, and project engineering teams is vital to refining MCC designs. Adherence to international standards such as ANSI, UL, IEEE, and IEC for designing and drafting electrical circuits is required, along with knowledge of ANSI symbols. You will need to apply standard industry drafting/modeling practices and demonstrate proficiency with 2D CAD tools for electrical systems. Effective communication with stakeholders, customers, team members, and cross-functional teams, both verbally and in writing, is crucial. Hands-on experience with drafting tools such as AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical is expected. Managing both mechanical and electrical work efficiently and switching between these tasks swiftly is part of the role. Leading AutoCAD Electrical drawing standardization and implementing new processes within the team are additional responsibilities. Performing control/power cable sizing, component mounting in switchgear, interpreting metering and modes of communication, and selecting and integrating electrical components are all key tasks in this position. Ensuring coordination of electrical and mechanical components for efficient MCC operation, providing input for continuous process and system improvements, performing quality checks to meet Eaton and customer standards, and fulfilling any other related duties as required are also part of the responsibilities of this role.
