Elastic Search Engineer

The role is primarily responsible for Managing and Administration of Log Monitoring and Analytics platform such as Elasticsearch Stack (ELK) as part of the Organizations Observability Platform.

• Administration and Maintenance of Elasticsearch Platform.
• Experience in Data Aggregation and Search using Elastic Search Platform
• Understanding of Data Modeling and querying using Log aggregation platform, Data extraction and reporting platform such as Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana tools.
• Experience in Designing & Data modeling, Bulk Document Indexing and Search in ElasticSearch.
• Extended uses of Elastic Search platform to support Machine Learning of the Data/metrics and perform Anomaly detections on the data.
• Experience in Working with Support team to create good Visualization of the Data with Kibana Console.
• Review the configurations of ElasticStack platform and modify it regularly to ensure data consistency and continuity.
• Effective communication and liaison with Various Support teams, both within organisation and support Vendors outside.
• Escalate potential issues and challengers with each of the tools operational and technically capability. Expectation is to work with the Technical teams
• Participation in on-call 24/7 support model to provide high availability of Services and monitoring platforms.

Preferred candidate profile

For this Role, the following is expected in addition to the key accountabilities;

• Hands-On experience in using Modern Data Analytics Platform such as ElasticSearch, Kibana, Logstash.
• Basic understanding of Monitoring concepts and simple hands-on experience with Nagios, Prometheus etc..
• Experience in Setting up Elastic Cluster in OnPrem and Cloud settings.
• Housekeeping and Automated healthchecks of the Elasticsearch platform to ensure its service availability and performance to agreed SLA and KPI.
• Ability to perform day to day operations for stability of monitoring/logging platforms. Such as Platform upgrades, tech refresh, uplifting of platforms to latest features etc..
• Experience in Administration of ElasticSearch Clusters such as Ingest Pipelines creations, Index Template creation, ILM (Index Lifecycle management), Creation of Watcher scripts/alert definitions.
• Deployment of Beats agents such as Metricbeat, filebeat, winlogbeat etc.. and creation of input output configs across large scale inventory.
• ITIL implementation experience and using ITIL standard looks such as ServiceNow.
• Experience in using Jira tools such as creating Jira issues, Confluence, Bamboo Pipelines, Bitbuckets
• Basic understanding of Software config management tools such as Puppet
• Ability and experience to work with Windows, Linux/Unix operating system environments.
• Ability to administer the platforms on Cloud hosting platforms such as Azure Cloud, AWS cloud
• Ability to apply knowledge of current monitoring and alerting capability as operations team.
• Ability and zeal to work simultaneously on smaller projects, delivering project milestones, and communicating effectively with a variety of technical support teams

Experience with scripting/languages such as (Bash, Python, Powershell, YAML, Query SQL etc..) and working from the command line in a Linux environment
