Job Description

An Education Counsellor guides students with academic, career, and personal challenges by assessing interests and strengths, helping them set goals, select courses, and navigate the college admissions process. Key responsibilities include conducting counselling sessions, collaborating with parents and teachers, organizing workshops, and maintaining confidential student records. Essential skills for this role are strong communication and empathy, a solid understanding of educational trends, and the ability to interpret assessments like aptitude and personality tests. Key Responsibilities

  • Student Guidance: Provide personalized academic and career advice to help students achieve their goals.
  • Assessment: Administer and interpret aptitude tests, personality assessments, and interest inventories to help students understand their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Goal Setting: Assist students in developing both academic and career plans and creating strategies to achieve them.
  • Admissions Support: Guide students and parents through the college and university application and admission processes.
  • Program Development: Create and implement programs and workshops on topics like study skills, stress management, and career readiness.
  • Collaboration: Work with parents, teachers, and other educational staff to identify student needs and develop support plans.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain confidential records of student interactions, assessments, and progress.
  • Resource Provision: Inform students and families about relevant resources, including tutoring, mentoring, and external support services.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and educators.
  • Empathy: A genuine desire to help students, with the ability to understand and empathize with their concerns and needs.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze student behaviors, academic records, and assessment results to make informed recommendations.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks, deadlines, and student needs.
  • Education/Psychology Background: A Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field is often required.

Pay: ₹10,019.15 - ₹30,611.28 per month
