Job Description

Role Overview: As an Economic Analyst for the Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EEMEA) region at the Mastercard Economics Institute (MEI), you will be a part of an economics lab focused on driving economic thought leadership to support Mastercard's efforts in building a more inclusive and sustainable digital economy. Your role involves engaging in data analytics and economic research specifically for the EEMEA region under the guidance of the SVP, Chief Economist. You will support client engagements, collaborate with external partners, generate insights, synthesize analyses, enhance existing products, and actively participate in developing new solutions and thought leadership activities. Key Responsibilities: - Support client and stakeholder engagements for the Economics Institute, with a focus on EEMEA economic research. - Collaborate with external clients, academic institutions, and industry partners. - Generate initial insights to create impactful storylines and visuals for projects. - Synthesize analyses into clear recommendations, assist in writing reports and client presentations. - Enhance existing products and work with internal stakeholders to develop new solutions. - Proactively seek new knowledge, structure project work efficiently, and contribute to thought leadership activities by sharing knowledge and best practices. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Economics (preferred), Statistics, or Mathematics. - Experience in statistical modeling, quantitative analysis, R development, and economic research. - Proficiency in SQL and Hadoop, expertise in R, Python, or other statistical packages. - Strong understanding of statistics, econometric concepts, and forecasting techniques. - Knowledge of Tableau, JavaScript for data visualization is a plus. - Proficient in key econometric and statistical techniques such as predictive modeling, logistic regression, time series modeling, etc. - Willingness to learn additional statistical applications or software as needed. - Experience in the financial services industry is desirable. - Excellent communication and strong writing skills are required for this role.,
