DWP VDI Architect

As a skilled professional in the field of Virtual Desktop Architecture, your primary responsibility will be to lead technical design and solution architecture in key areas such as CITRIX, VMWare, and MS AVD virtualization. Your expertise will be crucial in designing, installing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting complex and large-scale projects. You will be expected to demonstrate architect-level skills in optimizing performance, scalability, security, high availability, monitoring, printing, connectivity, and group policy administration. Your role will involve providing comprehensive end-to-end architecture solutions that align with both business and technical requirements. This includes gathering and analyzing requirements from internal and external stakeholders to produce detailed specifications. Additionally, you will be responsible for investigating and proposing solutions, as well as obtaining customer acceptance for these solutions. Experience in migrating virtual desktops from on-premises to cloud environments, utilizing FSlogix technologies for user and Office 365 profiling, and implementing Azure site recovery for BCDR requirements will be essential for this position. You will also play a critical role in applying, implementing, maintaining, and documenting the AVD solution. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading virtual desktop design and implementation efforts on complex projects. Strong technical leadership skills throughout the IT lifecycle, from analysis to production, will be required. You should also possess experience working in a matrix organization and leading projects from requirements capture to handover and knowledge transfer. Furthermore, a disciplined approach to network and infrastructure design, along with a deep understanding of Azure cloud services, is crucial. Proficiency in IP networking, VNet peering, Azure Firewall, and Azure Active Directory will be necessary to succeed in this role. In terms of education, a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred. However, equivalent work experience will also be considered. Key attributes that will set you apart include excellent written, oral, and presentation skills, the ability to explain technical concepts in business terms, and the capacity to develop strategic customer relationships. You should excel in solving complex technical problems through methodical troubleshooting and collaborate effectively with engineering and product teams. Your skill set should encompass a range of technologies, including Exchange On-premise/Hybrid, JAMF Pro, Nexthink, SCCM, Systrack, VMware Horizon, Windows MSIX, Intune, M365 Suites of Products, Application-Packaging-Flexera-Admin Studio, Ivanti - UEM, Citrix Xenapp-Xendesktop, SharePoint Online, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Azure Virtual Machines.
