Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Develop and optimize polymer-based drug formulations for controlled, sustained, and targeted release.
Conduct physicochemical characterization of polymers, including molecular weight determination, rheology, thermal analysis (DSC/TGA), and mechanical properties.
Perform drug-polymer compatibility studies using analytical techniques such as FTIR, NMR, XRD, and UV-Vis spectroscopy.
Utilize microscopy (SEM, TEM, AFM) and particle size analysis (DLS, laser diffraction) to assess polymer morphology and dispersion.
Work on microencapsulation, nanoparticle formulations, hydrogels, and polymeric micelles for drug delivery.
Conduct in vitro and in vivo drug release studies to evaluate release kinetics and bioavailability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in preclinical, regulatory, and manufacturing to ensure scalability and compliance with GMP, FDA, ICH, and ISO standards.
Support patent filings and scientific publications related to polymer-based drug delivery technologies.
Document research findings and contribute to regulatory submissions (IND, NDA, 510(k)) as required.

Preferred candidate profile

Ph.D. in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in drug-polymer formulations, biomaterials, or drug delivery R&D (industry experience preferred).
Strong knowledge of polymer synthesis, modification, and degradation mechanisms
