DRILLER I

As a Driller at Nabors, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of drilling operations. Reporting to the Rig Manager, your responsibilities will include overseeing the work on the drill floor, BOP, rig up, rig down procedures, and drilling operations to meet and exceed safety, production, and budget goals. Your proactive approach will involve anticipating potential problems, implementing corrective actions, and collaborating with the Rig Manager for post-analysis reviews to enhance best practices for future operations. Safety of the drill crew and support personnel, as well as the cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and drill floor, will be among your top priorities. In addition to monitoring and directing drilling operations according to the established plan, you will be expected to substitute for a Floorhand when necessary. Continuous training and development of employees on the drilling rig will be essential to align their career goals with the company's objectives. Monitoring the progress of drilling operations, changing bits, operating rig controls, adjusting mud pumps, and ensuring the proper functioning of equipment like Canrig Top Drives and draw works will be part of your daily tasks. Your ability to make critical decisions affecting crew safety, communicate instructions effectively, and respond to emergencies promptly will be crucial. The role will require your attention span and alertness during 12-hour shifts, ability to work on a rotation of 7 or 14 days on and off, and collaborate effectively with team members in a confined space for extended periods. Climbing stairs and ladders, lifting heavy items, and working in various environmental conditions will also be part of your job requirements. Your advanced knowledge of emergency shut-in procedures, problem-solving skills, and decisive decision-making will be valuable assets in this role.
