We have an Urgent opening for “Draftsman (Mechanical)” for our organization Indian Chain Pvt Ltd. for Kolkata location.

Role Purpose: A Mechanical Draughtsman creates detailed 2D/3D technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for mechanical parts, equipment, and systems using CAD software, translating engineering sketches, data, and specifications into precise manufacturing documents, ensuring compliance with standards, managing documentation, and collaborating with specific concern or team or higher officials for machinery layouts and other required works.

Important: Candidates must have core knowledgefor the position.

Key Responsibilities:

· Design & Drafting: Develop detailed mechanical drawings (GA, piping, isometric, P&ID) and 3D models for components, assemblies, and systems.

· Data Interpretation: Analyze sketches, notes, specifications, and site data to create accurate drawings.

· Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to refine designs and resolve issues.

· Documentation: Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ), material lists, purchase requisitions, and maintain organized drawing files.

· Standards Compliance: Ensure all drawings meet industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.

· Revision & Updates: Modify existing drawings based on feedback or changes.

Skills & Qualifications:

· Education: Diploma/ITI in Mechanical Engineering or related field. B.Tech (preferred)

· Experience: Must have minimum 5 years of experience (industry: metal or heavy machinery)

· Communication: Clear technical communication skills. Candidate should have ability and confidence to communicate with higher officials.

· Software Proficiency: Expertise in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).

· Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical principles, design standards, and engineering practices.

· Attention to Detail: High precision and accuracy in work.

· Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve design challenges.

· CAD Software (2D & 3D)

· Manual Drafting Tools (historically)

· Data Management Systems
