Job Title: Ayurvedic Consultant (BAMS MD)

Location: Ahmedabad

Reports To: Chief Medical Officer / Medical Director / Hospital Administrator

Department: Clinical Services / Specialty Department (e.g., Kayachikitsa, Panchakarma, etc.) Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Objective:

To provide specialized Ayurvedic consultation, diagnosis, and treatment in line with classical Ayurvedic texts and modern clinical standards. As a postgraduate Ayurvedic physician, the MD is expected to lead patient care, clinical research, therapy planning, and mentorship of junior doctors or interns.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Clinical Consultation & Diagnosis:

Conduct detailed patient assessments, including prakriti parikshan, dosha analysis, and samprapti vighatana.

Offer expert opinion in the chosen specialization (e.g., Kayachikitsa, Panchakarma, Dravyaguna, etc.).

Prescribe classical and proprietary Ayurvedic medicines with a personalized treatment approach.

2. Therapy & Panchakarma Planning:

Design customized Panchakarma and detox protocols based on disease stage and patient constitution.

Supervise therapy execution, ensuring adherence to classical procedures and hygiene protocols.

Train and guide therapists for precision in specialized treatments.

3. Patient Education & Lifestyle Guidance:

Counsel patients on ahar (diet), vihar (lifestyle), dinacharya, ritucharya, and yogic practices. Provide guidance on chronic disease management through Ayurvedic and integrative approaches.

4. Mentoring & Training:

Mentor BAMS doctors, interns, and therapists on clinical protocols and patient handling. Conduct CMEs, internal case discussions, and training sessions for staff.

5. Documentation & Research:

Maintain accurate medical records and patient follow-ups using EMR systems.

Participate in or lead clinical research, case documentation, or publications.

Support NABH, AYUSH, or academic compliance if applicable.

6. Public Engagement & Awareness:

Represent the hospital in health camps, seminars, community programs, and awareness drives.

Deliver public health talks and contribute content for wellness promotion (blogs, media, etc.).

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

B.A.M.S. from a recognized university

M.D. (Ayurveda) in a specialization such as Kayachikitsa, Panchakarma, Dravyaguna, Rasashastra, etc.

Valid registration with State or Central Ayurvedic Medical Council

Experience: 2-5 years of clinical experience preferred (Fresh MDs may be considered for junior consultant roles)

Skills:

Deep knowledge of Ayurvedic Samhitas and modern diagnostics

Expertise in Ayurvedic formulations and procedures

Strong patient counseling and clinical decision-making abilities

Good communication and mentoring skills

Basic proficiency in EMR, MS Office, and documentation practices
