Docent

Docent in a F&B establishment

We are looking for a Docent to join one of Calcutta's leading culinary spaces. The team member shall be responsible for welcoming guests, engaging with them and acting as a moderator during concept-driven lunch and dinner services, making connections with each guest and narrating the art and science of the ingredients and dishes served.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Detailed story telling at every table regarding the dishes served (training will be provided)

2. Assist in creating and curating cultural events around food in Calcutta and outside of the city

3. Maintain guest relations and customer relationships, and create a personalized experience for every guest.

4. Welcome guests

5. Establish guest relations & take care of any needs during regular events

6. Assist in service during operations

7. Respond to customer queries and messages

8. Responsible for creating special moments at the table with respect to the guests and the context.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a direct or associated role.

2. Fluency in English, Bengali & Hindi

3. Strong Communication Skills

4. Food and Beverage experience is desired

5. Interest in food, culture, history and storytelling

6. Problem solving

7. Experience or interest in social media is desired
