JOB OBJECTIVE/ PURPOSE: The candidate will be responsible for sales and business development activities for the customers & territories allotted. This is a technical sales position. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES To promote growth and development of sales by identifying and developing strategies to improve market share and increase coverage in specific geographies and/or segments Formulate the action plan for business development of your territory /segment. Responsible for all sales related activities including application study, quotation preparation, follow-up, and closure and payment tracking for direct and indirect customers in allotted territories. Expand and maintain constant customer interactions through visits, seminars, trainings, product demonstration etc. Responsible overall for individual and team targets. Communication and coordination with Principals. Prepare and submit regular and accurate reports related to sales and allied activities in the assigned territory. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS A Bachelors degree in engineering or a Diploma with sufficient relevant experience. (A degree / diploma in engineering is desirable but not essential. A candidate with sufficient understanding of basic engineering principles and with exposure to technical sales can also qualify.) The candidate must have minimum of 3 years’ experience in Sales to industrial customers. Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office / E-mail / Internet. PREFERRED SKILLS A clear understanding of basic engineering principles reflected in the ability to quickly learn the technical aspects of the job. Communication, negotiating and presentation skills. Decision making ability coupled with the ability to work independently and proactively. Ability to plan operations to meet targets and goals. The individual should have excellent people skills, with an ability to manage expectations of colleagues and customers. Integrity, credibility, and commitment to the mission of the organisation.
