Role Overview: As a Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in MySQL, Aurora, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, HBase, and Elastic Search, you will play a crucial role in expanding the distributed database practice. Your responsibilities will include designing, deploying, and managing Distributed SQL Database cluster solutions in cloud and hybrid environments, migrating complex workloads, analyzing and optimizing solutions for performance, and supporting pre-sales activities. Key Responsibilities: - Design, deploy, and manage Distributed SQL Database cluster solutions in cloud and hybrid environments, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and performance. - Migrate complex workloads from MySQL, Aurora, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, HBase, Elastic Search, or other RDBMS platforms to Distributed SQL Database solutions. - Analyze and optimize Distributed SQL Database solutions for performance, scalability, and system reliability. - Support sales in pre-sales activities, including customer discovery, technical demos, architecture reviews, and PoCs. - Articulate Distributed SQL Database solutions technical advantages and trade-offs in the context of a customers business needs and technical stack. - Deliver feedback from the field to influence overall strategy and roadmap. - Assist customers in designing Distributed SQL Database-based solutions that align with cloud architecture best practices (AWS, Azure, GCP). - Create technical documentation, whitepapers, and architecture diagrams for internal and customer use. - Stay current with the latest trends in distributed systems, Distributed SQL Database solutions. - Help define and improve our internal tools, processes, and operational runbooks. Qualification Required: - 12+ years of hands-on DBA experience in 4 or more listed databases; MySQL, Aurora, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, HBase, Elastic Search, and other relational databases. - 7+ years of experience in cloud database deployment and operations across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP. - 5+ years of experience with distributed SQL databases (e.g., CockroachDB, YugabyteDB, SingleStore). - Experience with customer-facing technical roles or supporting sales cycles (e.g., solutions engineer, customer success engineer). - Strong understanding of distributed systems, replication protocols, query optimization, and sharding. - Ability to confidently engage with enterprise customers understanding their pain points and translating them into scalable data solutions. - Solid background in infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and automation tooling (Terraform, Ansible, Prometheus, etc.). - Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, and visual (e.g., diagrams, documentation).
