Job Description

Role Overview: As the Director of Software Development at Adobe, you will provide technical vision and leadership to your teams. Your role involves mentoring and coaching your teams to achieve their full potential. You will be responsible for fostering a culture of agility, excellence, collaboration, and customer focus to ensure the delivery of high-quality products that meet the highest standards of performance, security, and usability. Additionally, you will drive the adoption of best practices, modern tools, and agile methodologies across the engineering organization. Key Responsibilities: - Lead in a hands-on manner, being actively involved where needed - Build high-scale and ultra low-latency systems - Focus on R&D to rethink existing architectures - Develop a multi-horizon strategy to guide research and development efforts - Collaborate with Product Management to bring AI-based Assistive experiences to life - Act as a bridge between Adobe's research labs, product management, and engineering teams - Recruit and lead a diverse team of world-class engineers - Create a team culture that emphasizes sound scientific processes and deep customer engagement - Manage project scope and risks using data, analytics, and creative problem-solving Qualifications Required: - More than 16 years of experience, including at least 10 years in technical roles involving large-scale, web-based system development - Expertise in Java, Data Lake technologies, and building and deploying SaaS applications - Masters or bachelor's degree in computer science or mainstream Engineering - Experience in building high-scale transactional and data platform-backed systems from scratch - Ability to thrive in ambiguity, adapt to evolving priorities, and lead a team autonomously - Demonstrated management experience with diverse and global teams - Ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders - Strategic thinking ability to create a vision for short-term and long-term goals - Strong focus on customer experiences and continuous product improvements Company Details (if available): Adobe is committed to creating exceptional employee experiences where everyone is respected and has equal opportunities.
