Director-Legal

Role Overview: As a member of HARMAN Lifestyle, you will provide legal and business support to the assigned division and its strategic business units. You will collaborate with various functions such as sales, engineering, product, finance, supply chain, and customer service. Your role will involve advising on sales and procurement agreements, commercial pursuits, contract strategies, and regulatory/commercial risk mitigation. Additionally, you will report to and closely collaborate with the VP, Associate General Counsel, and legal leadership on significant global matters affecting the enterprise. Your responsibilities will include handling complex negotiations, representing SBUs cross-functionally, reviewing and negotiating agreements, managing litigation, providing strategic advice to operational managers, and supporting enterprise initiatives through project management and cross-functional communication. Key Responsibilities: - Provide legal and business support to assigned divisions/SBUs, collaborating with functions such as sales, engineering, finance, supply chain, and customer service. - Deliver legal advice on sales and procurement agreements, commercial pursuits, and contract strategies with a focus on regulatory and risk mitigation. - Partner with legal leadership on significant global matters, handle complex negotiations independently, and represent SBUs across multiple functions. - Review, draft, and negotiate high-value agreements; manage litigation, outside counsel, and legal service providers. - Advise operational managers on key business issues, demonstrating financial acumen. - Support strategic projects and initiatives with strong project management, communication, collaboration, and influencing skills. Qualifications Required: - Experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating diverse commercial agreements - Knowledge of antitrust matters, contract training, and outside counsel management - Familiarity with legal/regulatory risks, compliance issues, and export controls - Ability to lead risk assessment/mitigation initiatives and provide innovative legal approaches aligned with business goals - Proficiency in managing external counsel spend and providing legal support on corporate and operational matters - Bonus points for serving as a legal role model and creating a constructive working environment Company Details: HARMAN Lifestyle is a global, multi-disciplinary team dedicated to transforming tomorrow through innovative technology.
