As a Network Security Vulnerability Management Specialist (SME), your role will involve identifying, assessing, and mitigating network security vulnerabilities within the organization's infrastructure. It is essential to have a strong understanding of security best practices, vulnerability scanning tools, and risk management. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance the organization's security posture. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments using industry-standard scanning tools like Nessus, Qualys, or OpenVAS across network devices, systems, applications, and cloud infrastructures. - Assess and prioritize vulnerabilities based on their potential impact, collaborating with stakeholders to develop risk mitigation strategies and recommend remediation actions. - Provide expertise in addressing vulnerabilities during security incidents, guiding IT and network teams on remediation best practices for timely patching and mitigation. - Develop and implement strategies for continuous vulnerability monitoring and reporting, tracking remediation progress to ensure compliance with security standards. - Ensure adherence to security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27001) related to network security and vulnerability management. - Maintain thorough documentation of vulnerability assessments, remediation activities, and risk management processes, providing regular status reports and executive summaries to senior management and key stakeholders. - Collaborate with security architects, network engineers, and IT teams to address security vulnerabilities across the network architecture, offering mentorship and training to junior staff on vulnerability management practices. - Continuously evaluate and enhance vulnerability management tools and processes, staying updated on the latest trends and emerging vulnerabilities in network security.,
