Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced and dedicated DG (Diesel Generator) Operator to manage and maintain the operation of diesel generator sets in the Steel Melting Shop (SMS) of our steel plant in Raipur. The ideal candidate will ensure uninterrupted power supply during outages and contribute to the smooth functioning of SMS operations. Key Responsibilities: Operate and monitor DG sets during power failures or when required. Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance of DG sets. Ensure optimal fuel usage and monitor fuel levels and consumption. Start, stop, and control DG sets safely as per operational requirements. Maintain logs and records of operation, maintenance, and breakdowns. Troubleshoot minor faults and coordinate with maintenance teams for major repairs. Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental guidelines. Report abnormalities or equipment issues to shift in-charge or plant engineers. Assist in synchronization and load management of the generator sets when needed. Support emergency power supply requirements during SMS operations (e.g., ladle handling, crane operation, cooling systems, etc.). Qualifications & Experience: ITI / Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 2–5 years of experience in operating and maintaining DG sets in a heavy industry or steel plant environment. Hands-on experience with diesel generator operation (250 KVA and above). Basic knowledge of electrical systems and safety procedures. Skills Required: Technical knowledge of DG sets (Cummins/Kirloskar or similar brands). Ability to read control panels, gauges, and interpret fault signals. Preventive maintenance and troubleshooting skills. Awareness of safety standards and emergency procedures.
