Role Overview

The Senior Device Test Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing

comprehensive test strategies for device features, Android OS, and system-level functionalities.

The role requires deep technical expertise in embedded systems, Android platforms, and

automated/manual testing methodologies to ensure product quality, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Strategy & Planning
• Develop detailed test plans and strategies for device features, Android OS, and

system-level testing.

• Define test coverage for new features, regression, and release cycles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Design) to align

on test requirements and execution.

• Test Design & Execution
• Author and execute manual and automated test cases for device features and

Android system components.

• Build and maintain hybrid manual/automation test plans.
• Develop test applications, tools, and infrastructure for feature and system

validation.

• Conduct performance, reliability, and stability testing, including stress and

endurance tests.

• Defect Triage & Debugging
• Identify, log, and triage defects; perform root cause analysis and debugging.
• Prioritize and assign defects for resolution, ensuring timely closure of high-priority

issues.

• Maintain comprehensive records of test cases, results, and defect reports.
• Automation & CI/CD
• Design and implement automated tests (unit, integration, E2E) using

industry-standard frameworks.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality.
• Support diff-time and release-time testing for rapid feedback and issue

identification.

• JavaScript automation will be an add-on.
• System & Feature Benchmarking
• Benchmark device and system performance against competitor devices.
• Analyze and report on reliability, stability, and robustness metrics.
• Continuous Improvement
• Drive improvements in test processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge across teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong foundation in Android Device testing, development and embedded systems (C,

C++, Java/Kotlin).

• Proven experience in device feature testing, Android OS validation, and system-level

QA.

• Expertise in automated test design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Experience with CI/CD workflows and test infrastructure management.
• Advanced defect triage, debugging, and root cause analysis skills.
• Performance measurement, reporting, and analysis capabilities.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-device automation testing and lab infrastructure management.
• Familiarity with OTA update validation, Bluetooth connectivity testing, and usability

testing.

• Track record of benchmarking and competitive analysis in device/system QA.
• Experience in leading code reviews and driving test coverage improvements.
