Job Description

As a software developer in United's Digital Technology team, you will be responsible for developing mission-critical applications in collaboration with a team of developers. Your focus will be on building high-performing, real-time middleware solutions for domains such as Baggage, Flight Operations, Reservation Management, and Check-in. You will also contribute to the development of data caches and real-time messaging applications used across operational and commercial systems within the company. Emphasizing on delivering cloud-based solutions, you will utilize cutting-edge technologies and enterprise-grade integration software on a daily basis. Your key responsibilities will include participating in the full development life cycle, serving as a technical expert on projects, writing technical specifications based on business requirements, supporting, maintaining, and documenting software functionality, as well as identifying and evaluating new technologies for implementation. Additionally, you will analyze code, participate in software design meetings, consult with end-users to refine programs, and ensure they meet specified needs. You will be recognized as an expert in the field, staying abreast of emerging trends and industry practices, while working independently with a high degree of autonomy. Mentoring less experienced peers and displaying leadership qualities when necessary will also be expected. This position requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience. Candidates should possess at least 5 years of experience in design, development, testing, and debugging of software systems, excellent knowledge of object-oriented systems design, and strong proficiency in Java, SQL, and Design Patterns. Experience in Messaging, EAI, CEP, In-memory Distributed Caching platforms, Continuous Integration, Unit/Integration testing, and Code reviews is essential. Proficiency in Java, Web Services development, and fluency in written and spoken English are also required. Additionally, the ability to travel up to 4 weeks to the US annually, legal authorization to work in India without sponsorship, and successful completion of the interview process are necessary qualifications. Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, project experience in TIBCO technologies, familiarity with native Cloud technologies like AWS/Azure, Docker containers, and Container Orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, as well as prior experience in the airline industry.,
