Job Description

As an NVH Test and Development Engineer, your role involves setting NVH targets based on benchmarking with competitor's vehicles for Drive-train at both vehicle level and Drive-train bench level. You will be responsible for evaluating Drive-train NVH and ensuring the achievement of defined targets. Additionally, you will conduct experimental Noise, Vibration, and Aero-acoustic investigations using techniques such as Modal Analysis, Transfer Path Analysis, and Sound Quality Analysis. Your tasks will include subjective and objective evaluation to identify noise sources, root causes, and propose countermeasures. It will be crucial for you to summarize findings and objectively evaluate the effectiveness of counter-measures. You will also need to track future Drivetrain technology trends and assess customer acceptance of in-cabin noise generated from transmission. Conducting customer preference studies, correlating results to objective metrics, creating clear technical reports, and interfacing with various departments are also part of your responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Set NVH targets based on competitor benchmarking for Drive-train - Evaluate Drive-train NVH and achieve defined targets - Conduct experimental Noise, Vibration, and Aero-acoustic investigations - Identify noise sources, root causes, and propose countermeasures - Summarize findings and evaluate counter-measure effectiveness - Track future Drivetrain technology trends and assess customer acceptance of in-cabin noise - Conduct customer preference studies and correlate results to objective metrics - Create clear technical reports - Interface with Market Quality, New development quality, and Engineering Design Departments Qualifications Required: - Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in NVH testing & development related to Drive-train in the automotive industry - Proficient understanding of Drivetrain system design and parameters affecting NVH performance - Valid Driving License and satisfactory driving record - Experience with Noise & Vibration test equipment and LMS Test Lab software - Experience with Modal Testing and Transfer path analysis - Understanding of NVH simulation models and CAE - Relevant work experience on Dynamometer system For this role, you are required to have a MS/M.Tech/B.Tech degree in Acoustics, Noise & Vibration, or Mechanical Engineering from a premier institute with at least 60% marks throughout your education.,
