Role & responsibilities

Plant Maintenance

• Oversee all maintenance activities of the carbon black plant and associated utilities.
  • Ensure maintenance operations meet organizational requirements with minimum downtime and optimum cost. • Carry out daily condition monitoring, equipment trend analysis, and implement preventive actions.

Equipment Handling

• Responsible for maintenance of: Air compressors, Process air blowers, Centrifugal fans, Rotary air valves, Process APH, Bag filters, Screw pumps, Centrifugal pumps, Dosing pumps, Pin mixers, Bucket elevators, Screw conveyors, Vertical agitators, Vertical inline pumps, Multi-stage pumps.

Maintenance Practices

• Execute preventive, predictive, corrective, condition-based, and total productive maintenance systems.
  • Implement KAIZEN, OPL, lubrication management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Inventory & Spare Management

• Update and maintain spare part records; review store inventory to optimize stock and reduce carrying costs.

Contractor & SAP Activities

• Supervise contractor jobs and handle billing through SAP.
  • Coordinate with stores and purchase departments for smooth operations.

Technical Documentation

• Ability to read and interpret Layouts, Piping GA, Equipment GA, Isometric drawings, P&IDs.
  • Prepare reports and documentation in accordance with ISO standards.

Team Leadership & Training

• Plan, direct, and coordinate maintenance team activities.
  • Train, develop, and motivate staff to reduce dependency on contractual workforce and optimize maintenance costs.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment used in carbon black plants and utilities; hands-on experience in rotating and static equipment maintenance.

Maintenance Systems

TPM, Predictive/Preventive Maintenance, CBM, Corrective Maintenance methodologies.

Tools & Software

SAP (maintenance and billing modules), MS Office; understanding of ISO documentation.

Drawing Interpretation

Proficiency in reading Layouts, GA drawings, Isometrics, and P&IDs.

Soft Skills

Good leadership, team development, coordination, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
