As a candidate for this role, you must possess deep technical knowledge and understanding of L2/L3 networking protocols and technologies such as VPC, STP, HSRP, OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP. You should also have strong Nexus 2K/5K/7K/9K platform knowledge and hands-on experience. Additionally, knowledge of overlay technologies like VXLAN, BGP EVPN, OTV, and LISP is required. Familiarity with Cisco SDN based technologies such as Cisco ACI, Cisco Programmable Network Portfolio (Standalone VXLAN-Fabric), and DCNM is also essential. Desirable skills that would add value to this role include being familiar with computing, virtualization, and container environments, specifically Cisco UCS, Hyperflex, VMware, Microsoft, and Kubernetes. In terms of education and additional certifications, a degree or masters along with certifications like CCNP, CCIE (R&S/DC), VCP, AWS, and CKA are considered good to have.
