The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing data migration strategies from on-premises and other cloud environments toMicrosoft Azure. This role requires deep expertise in DB2 Database migration and cloud data governance. Key Responsibilities - Leadend-to-end data migrationprojects, ensuring seamless transition to Azure with minimal disruption.
- Migration and HADR experiencespecifically onDB2 and SAP environmentsfrom on-prem to Azure. Strong hands-on expertise inRHEL + DB2
- Migrate and support DB2 database systems ensuring seamless data transfer
- Experience with DB2 and SAP migration to Azure, withtools likeAzure Site Recovery, Azure Database Migration Service, SWPM, and Azure Migrate
- Assess existing on-premises or cloud data landscapes and developmigration strategiesaligned with business goals.
- Migratestructured and unstructureddata from DB2 and other data sources to Azure.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, includingDBAs, data engineers, cloud architects, and security teams, to ensure a successful migration.
- Performdata validation and reconciliationpost-migration to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Addressperformance bottlenecksand implement best practices forAzure database performance tuning.
- Provide technical expertise onAzure Data Governance, security best practices, and compliance frameworks.
- Document migration strategies, challenges, and solutions for knowledge sharing and future scalability.
- Stay up to date with the latest Azure data technologies and recommend improvements forcloud data architectures.
Qualifications & Skills - Bachelor's/Master's degreein Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experiencein data engineering, database administration, or cloud data solutions, with at least3+ years focused on Azure DB2 data migration.
- Strong understanding ofdatabase architectures, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
- Experience withAzure Migrate, Data Migration Assistant (DMA), and DB2 third-party data migration tools.
- Solid understanding ofcloud networking, hybrid data connectivity, and security best practices.
- Familiarity withdata governance, GDPR, HIPAA, and other compliance standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot migration challenges and ensure business continuity.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to guide and mentor teams.
